Detroit --Former Detroit City Councilwoman Monica Conyers was sentenced to 37 months in prison today, but not before controversy and confusion erupted when she announced she wanted to withdraw her guilty plea to bribery.

Relatives of an unsatisfied bride-to-be attacked employees of a bridal shop, spitting on and slapping one female employee, placing one man in a headlock and throwing chairs and mannequins around the store before being arrested.

Kevin Antone, 18, was sentenced before Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Edward Servitto Jr. on counts of second-degree murder and armed robbery in the July death of Michael McCarthy.
